Stephen was admitted to practice law by the State of California in 1997 after receiving a BA degree from University of Southern California in international relations and Chinese studies and a JD degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he was an honor student and published member of the Loyola Law Review. He has received a Judicial AV Preeminent Rating representing local governments and private developers and owners located in California on matters related to contracting, procurement, and claims involving the design and construction of improvements to real property. He began his law practice with a local Los Angeles area law firm specializing in regional shopping center development where he determined early on to focus his practice on disputes and transactions related to construction. He was formerly a partner in an international law firm and a national construction law firm before opening his current law office. Stephen grew up in Southern California and lived overseas in Taiwan and Japan. His media appearances on sociopolitical/legal issues include NBC’s Today Show, CNN’s Burden of Proof, PBS/SoCal, NPR and KABC radio. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California and near Park City, Utah with his wife, Lori. Avid dog lovers, Steve and Lori enjoy the outdoors, wildlife, and hiking.
